Loved getting to know these guys when I photographed their wedding, they have to be the coolest couple out. So I was super excited and honored when they got in touch with me to capture these moments in the days before their first baby is born…

It’s tricky to find the words to express how I feel about these guys… and about their wedding, especially without getting all gushy and soppy. Rosie made her own dress, only the second dress she has ever made. This is not something I would usually recommend but I totally knew Rosie with her Architects attention to detail would pull it off. I have to put a big word out for Abby Jane Black was on hair and make up (isn’t it beautiful!) Rosie and Doran got ready together at this super nice house on a hill overlooking the sea. They have a really special thing going on these two and I think the two beautiful readings from their ceremony sum it up pretty well….
‘Dancing Toward Bethlehem’ – Billy Collins
If there is only enough time in the final minutes of the twentieth century for one last dance I would like to be dancing it slowly with you,
say, in the ballroom of a seaside hotel.
My palm would press into the small of your back as the past hundred years collapse into a pile of mirrors or buttons or frivolous shoes,
just as the floor of the nineteenth century gave way and disappeared in a red cloud of brick dust. There will be no time to order another drink
or worry about what was never said,
not with the orchestra sliding into the sea and all our attention devoted to humming whatever it was they were playing.

‘Words on Feeling Safe’ – George Eliot.
Oh the comfort,
The inexpressible comfort, of feeling safe with a person.
Having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, But pour them all out just as they are,
chaff and grain together,
and a faithful hand will take and sift them, Keep what is worth keeping,
and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.

This woodland forrest in the grounds of the Auckland Golf Club has to be one of the most romantic locations I have shot for a long time. A great contrast to the beautifully formal and manicured Auckland Golf Club itself. Nicky and Johan had quite a formal wedding but they themselves are so totally relaxed and fun and a little bit wild which made them an absolute dream to photograph. Don’t you think Nicky’s dress looks just incredible in the wildflowers and the woodland? And what about that car?

Nicky + Johan celebrated their wedding at the Auckland Golf Club. We found this beautiful little forrest with a carpet of little white wild flowers. I promise to share more after Christmas!
Wallace Chapman of fashion blog street and city photos and political show Back Benches married the very beautiful and stylish Tabitha Bryan in classic vintage style a few weeks ago and I was lucky enough to capture the day….

I have been photographing so many beautiful weddings over the last few months and totally have to begin sharing a few of them with you here on the blog. Cindy + Paul’s wedding at Mantells was a pretty glamorous affair and but also had tons of warmth, fun and laughter. Mantells is such a beautiful spot… every time I visit I want to move in and live there, do you think they would notice?
